ANALYTICAL SOLUTION OF UNSATURATED SOIL WATER FLOW FROM A POINT SOURCE
نویسندگان
چکیده
Water flow into unsaturated porous media is governed by the Richards’ partial differential equation expressing mass conservation and Darcy’s laws. The may be written in three forms, where dependent variable pressure head or moisture content, constitutive relationships between water content allow for conversion of one form other. In present paper, “moisture-based" linearized applying Kirchhoff’s transformation, whichcombines soil diffusivity content. Then similarity method used to obtain analytical solution wetting front position. This exact obtained means Lie’s infinitesimal transformation groups. predicted results agreed well with available experiments numerical solutions.

An analytical solution for transient radial flow through unsaturated fractured porous media
[1] This paper presents analytical solutions for one-dimensional radial transient flow through a horizontal, unsaturated fractured rock formation. In these solutions, unsaturated flow through fractured media is described by a linearized Richards’ equation, while fracture-matrix interaction is handled using the dual-continuum concept. Although linearizing Richards’ equation requires a specially ...
متن کاملSensitivity Analysis of Hydraulic Parameters in the Simulation of Unsaturated Soil Water Dynamics
Soil water content is one of the most important parameters for estimating irrigation frequency and providing the plant’s water requirement. Since measurement of soil water content is both expensive and time consuming, water movement models are used to estimate these values. In this study, LEACHW model was used to estimate soil water content for two “dry” (20-29 Aug) and “wet” (1-6 Jul) periods ...

Effects of soil heterogeneity have been the focus of both field and theoretical research for the past decade (e.g., Hills et al., 1991; Hopmans et al., 1988; Mantoglou and Gelhar, 1987; McCord et al., 1991, Russo, 1991; Ünlü et al., 1990; Wierenga et al., 1991; Yeh et al., 1985a,b; Yeh et al., 1986). Analytical models are essential tools for investigating the effect of heterogeneity on flow and...
متن کاملA Soil-Water Coupled Analysis of the Deformation of an Unsaturated River Embankment due to Seepage Flow and Overflow
In recent years, many disasters due to floods have occurred around the world. In some cases, the level of river water exceeded the estimated high-water level. It is necessary, therefore, to reconsider the evaluation method for river dike embankments during floods for the safety of the embankments. In this study, a deformation analysis is proposed that can simultaneously consider the unsaturated...
